Health Fair & Aerobic Burnout

On Friday 28th April, Fatima College held its first Health Fair. Biology students in forms four to six were able to measure their blood pressures, calculate their Body Mass Index and to demonstrate to students in lower forms how to use microscopes. Form 4 Biology students also did an experiment on identifying biochemicals in foods and Mr. Mahadeo conducted an exciting interaction demonstration of taste testing of fruits. Mr. Nigel St. Rose performed eye tests. Mr. Alain Miller and his son in form 4 performed interactive martial arts displays and there were demonstrations of an ultrasound machine and an ECG by the Advanced Cardiovascular Institute. Thanks to all parents, teachers and students in the Biology and Physics Departments who made this venture a success.

On Thursday 18th May, Fatima College had its first Aerobics Burnout run by four PTIs of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force. Students and teachers happily exercised to the sound of Soca music during lunchtime. The first place winner was Tyrique Vincent of form 3-4. Ms. Candace Romeo-Isaac won the female teachers’ prize and Mr. Atiba Samuel won the prize for the best male teacher. Congratulations to all who took part! Thanks to all teachers in the Biology and Physical Education Department who made this Burnout a tremendous success. We look forward to the second Burnout in October 2023.
