Cricket

Fatima College has a rich history in the sport of cricket. The school has proudly produced past test cricket legends “The late Michael Joey Carew and arguably one of the greatest batsmen of all Brian Charles Lara”. Most recently Darren Bravo currently plays for the West Indies and Akeal Hosein and Amir Jangoo are current Trinidad and Tobago regional players with both on the verge of playing for the West Indies.

Fatima’s coaching staff consists of Miguel Paty who has been coaching at the College since 2000 with his assistants Dwayne Davis and Dwayne Bourne with Allison Poon as the Manager. Fatima has won the Secondary Schools Cricket League on several occasions with the most recent being in 2016. The College has also won several Intercol titles with the most recent being in 2015. Over the past 20yrs. Fatima has won 12 National U14 and 10 national U16 titles by far the most of any school. The school presently participates in the North Zone SSCL U13 league, the U14, U16 and the Premier division (U19). In 2014 Fatima entered the North Zone TTCB club competition where the school placed 2nd three time and third once before winning the second division in 2019 and being promoted to the 1st division last season. Due to COVID-19 the season was not completed.

In 2003 Fatima toured St. Vincent and in 2004 the school toured Barbados. In 2005 the school returned to Barbados participating in the Sir Gary Sobers International Schools tournament and have toured every year through 2019 again due to covid the tournament was cancelled.

The school presently has 51 cricketers and 15 form ones have already registered. We presently boast eight junior national cricketers ranging from u15 to u19. We are looking forward to working with the new recruits and getting them ready for the 2021 season.
